The 1653 Old Barrel Rum was created to commemorate Christian Schybi. He was a leader in the Peasants' War of 1653 and husband of Maria Studer, an ancestress of the distillery. The rum is made from Latin American sugarcane molasses. The 1653 Old Barrel Rum is stored for several years in oak barrels which give the rum a mild character with hints of vanilla, honey and wood.
